Partiste para o Sul como se fosse uma fuga do mundo, 

(You left for the South as if to escape the world,)

mas, no final, vieste fazer a paz com o mundo, 

(but, in the end, you came to make peace with the world,)

muito mais do que paz, vieste fazer amor com o mundo! É inesperado para o próprio mundo!

(much more than peace, you came to make love with the world. It's unexpected to the world itself!)

Para os teus pais do Norte, tu estás escondida algures no infinito Sul... 

(For your parents in the North, you are hidden somewhere in the infinite South...)

Para eles, é como se tivesses morrido ou sido condenada ao Degredo.

(For them, it is as if you had died or been condemned to exile.)

Aqui, chamava-se Degredo, a condenação ao Fim do Mundo! 

(Here, it was called Exile, the condemnation to the End of the World!)

Para mim, o Fim do Mundo foi o Princípio da Possibilidade do Mundo.

(For me, the End of the World was the Beginning of the Possibility of the World.)

Sim, vim livre, liberta, livremente. Permaneço livre, liberta, livremente.

(Yes, I came free, liberated, freely. I remain free, liberated, freely.)

Nunca imaginei que fosse possível tanta liberdade ao mesmo tempo no Princípio do Mundo: liberdade-de-, liberdade-para-, liberdade-com-, liberdade-sobre- 

(I never imagined so much freedom was possible at the same time in the Beginning of the World: freedom-from, freedom-for, freedom-with, freedom-over.)

Não sei quantos sentidos de Liberdade e de Libertação e de Livremente é possível "pensar"... "pensar", isto é, "falar comigo", "dizer-me o que vivo no meu diálogo claro e silencioso". Por isso, tenho inventado palavras ou desistido de palavras e feito alguns gestos novos para "significar". O sentido vivido excede "viver-na-linguagem". "Significar" é mais profundo do que "verbalizar" e do que pensar verbalmente. Há uma inteligência pensante, raciocinante, compreensiva, mais funda do que esse "diálogo" que escorre à superfície da língua.  

(I don't know how many meanings of Freedom and Liberation and Freely it's possible "to think"... "to think," that is, "to speak with me," "to tell me what I live in my clear and silent dialogue." Therefore, I have invented words or abandoned words and made some new gestures to "signify." Lived meaning exceeds "living-in-language." "Signifying" is deeper than "verbalizing" and than thinking verbally. There is a thinking, reasoning, understanding intelligence, deeper than this "dialogue" that flows on the surface of the tongue. )

Estou a viver mais do que alguma vez tinha conseguido pensar. Agora, gostaria de ser capaz de pensar o que na vida excedeu e continua a exceder todo o pensamento! É uma intenção transportadora... trans-ascendente... se fizer sentido.

(I am living more than I have ever been able to think. Now, I would like to be able to think about what in life has exceeded and continues to exceed all thought! It is a transportive intention... trans-ascending... if that makes sense.)

Não creio que esteja a viver uma exceção, mas uma excedência que nunca imaginei ser "capaz" de viver. É como se tivesse descoberto um talento artístico e uma vocação artística para uma Arte que nunca imaginava que existia: Ser capaz de viver mais do que imaginava ser viver.  

(I don't believe I'm living an exception, but an excess that I never imagined would be "able" to live. It's as though I had discovered an artistic talent and an artistic vocation for an Art that I never imagined existed: Being able to live more than I imagined living.)
